My first-ever trip below the rim! I was tracking some birds, and thought there might be a carcass down around the fault. No luck, and I got blisters on the hike back up! I never get blisters. I thought that the hike up was easier because my knees didn't feel like they were going to collapse going down those log steps. Only went as far as the 1 1/2 mile rest house. Birds weren't acting like anything was low in the canyon.
