Located in the Sequoia National Monument, Ca, my destination was The "Chicago Stump". Hard to believe people were so indifferent and cut down these giant trees(Sequoia's) for no reason. The tree stump pictured by my bike, called the "California hoax" as it was cut and sent to the 1893 Worlds Columbian Exposition in Chicago. It could not be transported without cutting it in pieces, transporting it and putting it together for the exposition. Most people did not believe such a huge tree could exist.
