A great short hike. After parking our car at the trailhead ($2 fee) we met a hiker who had just completed the loop. We took her advice and decided to take the left, paved ascent and do the trail clockwise. Facing the mountain, the left side (up) is paved while the right side (down) is dirt. It seems more enjoyable to climb the steeper paved side, the descent down the dirt trail is then easier on your legs since you're not walking all the way down on concrete. Either way, this is an easy hike. I submitted some photos of the views from the top but forgot to take a photo of the Butte itself. I'm sure someone else can fill in the blanks.
It was nice to get out of Phoenix and enjoy the cooler air around Prescott.
