The creek was running very high and there were waterfalls everywhere! Every side canyon had water running through it. The hike description says to follow the creek bed past the 7th creek crossing, and also states "the wetter the better." Well, although it as very beautiful with the water so high, it was impossible to stay in the creek bed. We bushwhacked our way along the banks of the creek and got extremely torn up. About a half mile on the creek past the last crossing of the Dutchman Trail, we hiked up a side canyon to a waterfall we spotted. We then hiked up and over the mountain that separated the creek from the dutchman trail and returned via the trail. Definitely a fun adventure, but way too much water to complete the entire loop.
