Great days for a backpack.

Bluff Spring to Terrapin to Dutchman to Calvary to Boulder Canyon to Dutchman and back on Peralta the next day.

Couldn't get much sleep - Search and Rescue choppers kept buzzing us all night. They were looking for a guy who apparently ended up being found in either a canyon or on top of a mountain either on Black Top Mesa, Black Mesa, West Boulder Canyon, Northern Boulder Canyon near Canyon lake, or off-trail somewhere...um...yeah.

The Sheriff's chopper practices nap of the earth flying at night, the guy was about 60-80 feet above the ground doing all of the trails with his spotlights on. The SAR helicopter guy keeps above about 500 feet once the sun comes out. SAR guys talked to us in the morning before they finally found him.

Got near freezing at night, but other than the cold it was very nice weather.

The lost dude must have been pretty cold and apparently couldn't signal the chopper that he was the lost one when they found him, hopefully he avoided hypothermia and frostbite...always carry a lighter and matches when dayhiking.
