This is a hike to take if you want solitude. Hiked for over 4 hours and didn't see another person. The trail is surprisingly well maintained despite the fact that it probably doesn't get a lot of use. It's a lot like other trails/areas in the far west valley. The White Tanks and Vulture Peak are 2 that come to mind. Aside from a herd of cattle at the start, there was no other wildlife to be seen. Hung around on the summit long enough to read about the observatory and other equipment up there then headed back down. The dirt road in is rough but doable by passenger car.
