After hiking the Big Tree Trail, I still had a few hours of daylight left, so I headed up Mitchell Peak. It was slow going, with thick brush, big rocks and fallen logs blocking the way. Great views, though. I spooked a gigantic beast up there (a cow ), and got covered in charcoal streaks from burnt branches. I probably won't hike Mitchell Peak again, but my curiousity has been satisfied.
