A fantastic day of hiking with 3 AOTC hikers. We had not planned on making it all the way the to ranch, but when we stopped for lunch at Plow Saddle at noon, we decided to go another hour before turning back. I guess we didn't realize what great time we were making, and before we know it, we were at the ranch. Two of us had gotten ahead, so went down to the intersection with Fire Line and turned back and met the others at the site of the ranch house. After taking some photos, we hoofed it back to the parking lot to be sure we got out before dark. The two of us in the lead made in back in three hours and we had a pleasant wait sitting on the rocks overlooking Apache Lake for about a half an hour for the other members of the group.
