A short, easy hike to some pretty waterfalls. This is the perfect hike to take your out-of-town guests. We parked in the wash at the bottom of the hill, but be careful there. The ground is like quicksand and even though I have 4WD, for a moment I didn't think I would get out. You really can't get lost on the way to the falls, but on the way back you notice several smaller washes that flow into Blue Wash at an angle you can't see from the other direction. If you're not paying attention, it's easy to veer off course. Not much water in the wash or the creek but the falls are still running pretty good and you can hear them early in the hike. The mini-canyon around it is mostly very pretty granite. It looks gray in the photos, but up close you see shades of pink and coral. Must be beautiful at sunset. Looking at these sheer granite walls I kept thinking how great it would look on my counter top. Bad girl. Above the falls is a nice pool for wading and another decent waterfall. The whole hike was only an hour and a half of walking at an easy pace. We spent two hours at the falls wading, taking photos and just daydreaming to the sound of the water. Nice day.
