My first time to South Mountain, it was so much more than I was expecting! Went with Roger on a beautiful weekday and only saw 9 other people on our 7 mile trek. The scenery was such a surprise climbing over the first ridge. Hard to believe that Phoenix is just on the other side. Hidden Valley has some fantastic rock formations. Went through a couple of tunnels in the rocks getting to Fat Man's Pass. Good trails, well signed and a terrific view of the city from the top.
