| | | The majority of the Tahoe Rim Trails are still officially closed. This section was open but the snow pack made for some difficult times. Route finding, normally a 3 was boosted to a 4.5 in sections and I lost the trail several times. If I had not done this trail in previous years I would have had to turn back. Crampons helped take the edge off. It was strange to meet a backcountry skier who just made a pass off Tamarack peak. All trails should be open by July 1.
