I believe I'm the first to post photos of the fall colors this year! I had to get up at 5 AM to get this one done with my limited time this morning. Of course, every aspen on a north facing slope was glowing bright yellow but the early morning light was unforgiving. It seemed like either the sky would over-expose or the aspens would under-expose on the first 20 shots I took. Fortunately I blessed with some magnificent light and clouds when I hit the meadow! Overall I'm still a bit disappointed with the photoset, but you can't win 'em all. At least I got to enjoy the fall colors without another soul on the trail or a nightmare drive up 522! I've heard horror stories about SUVs driving 40 MPH up that road just to get a glance at the colors in Lockett Meadow only turn around fly back down the hill at 40 MPH. I don't want to have any part of that!
