Did this as a midweek hike--it is near work and easy to get to. The afternoon temperature was in the mid 70's--perfect for this cinder cone. Mine was the only car at the trailhead at 4:00, but there were 5 others there when I returned 1 hour later. The only wildlife was birds and one tarantula that I almost stepped on.
