Started a little late with my boys (11) about 10:30 but were determined to make it to the top. Nice shaded hike to Josephine Saddle where we enjoyed the view and a snack. Some light traffic going up. We preceded to Baldy Saddle via Bellows Springs where a friendly squirrel tried to beg food. We know better than that and even though he worked his way behind us and tried a sneak attack beg. Stopped at Baldy Saddle for Lunch and made the final push for the top. Boys did really well. Views were amazing. Memorials and logs fun to learn about. Decided to return via Supertrail to take it easy on my knees. It is much less travelled and is overgrown in places. We weren't prepared for the catclaws as we were in shorts. So we earned lots of nice fine scratches. Saw several good size deer and a great place to camp on the backside saddle just before Baldy Springs.

Will return one day to camp here.
We stayed a little too long on top and by the time we worked our way back to Josephine Saddle it was pitch black but we had one trusty headlamp so we finished the last 2 miles in 2.5 hours as the going was very slow.
Carried 3 Liters Water and 1 liter Gatorade. Drank all but .5 L.
Boys carried 2 Liters & .5L Gatorade still had a .5L Water remaining end of day
Great experience Native Arizonan(Prescott) had never heard of Mt. Wrightson before this trip. Well worth drive & time.
