Rock Point - Navajo Lands

An 801 mile round trip weekend to Rock Point near the Four Corners region of Arizona to drop of a pick-up truck load of birthday and Xmas presents at the Navajo Lutheran Mission School courtesy of Altadena Middle School in Ahwatukee. This was part of an ongoing exchange program between the two schools.

Got on the road Friday night a little later than planned (2 fender benders at the newly installed photo radar on I-10 near airport created a 2 hour rush hour drive home from the city core), but did manage to arrive at our Kayenta Hampton Inn base camp before midnight. Brilliant moonlit evening made for an interesting drive...

We had an early Saturday morning breakfast at the Inn before making our way towards Rock Point. Lynn and I met the head teacher Delores at the pre-arranged time at the Mission School to unload my truck. Upon completion, we made our way across Chinle Wash to the upland slickrock areas to the west of Rock Point. Had a walkabout up the slickrock and over to the dunes.

On the way home, stopped at the Hibbard Site off the I-40 between Holbrook and Winslow to follow-up on a tip from PageRob...
