What a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning! Blaine (friend, neighbor and co-worker of mine) joined me on this excursion. I'm not in as good of shape as I was a couple months ago, so the climb to the top of the first bench was a little rough. I was surprised to see as much fall foliage as there was considering the time of year on a north facing slope, plus its a burn area. The first climb tore us up a bit, so the second ascent was a little slower moving. However, we reached the south viewpoint in a respectable time of two hours anyway. Spent about an hour and a half enjoying the splendid view of Sedona and the surrounding red rock country and then booked it back to the car for in an hour and ten minutes.
