Drove down to Cottonwood to escape the 35" of snow at home. Explored the Verde River Greenway on and off trail--managed to come face to face with a whitetail doe in the tall reeds. I don't know which of us was more surprised! Birds included herons, songbirds and one raptor I can't identify. The river was running strong with runoff.
