The weather forecast said rain, but I said who cares! Let's go hike Picket Post! I've been up there 4 times before (back before I used to log them on HikeArizona)so I wasn't too worried. I figured if it got too bad we would just go home. It sprinkled on us for awhile and once we got a ways up in the canyon the rain picked up. Out came the rain gear! The rocks were getting pretty slick so we decided not to take the chance and didn't push on to the top. Darn. Another day.

It's been a few years since I have been up there. The sign on the highway makes it a lot easier to find and so it was busier than it used to be. Oh well. I like the new trail from the parking area. Now you don't have to go down the Arizona Trail and try to find the side trail. That's good. The trailhead didn't say where the trail lead or anything about it though. Not even a name. Can't have everything?
