The south face of the hill looked dry, but there was still a lot of snow on the road/ trail. Otherwise, it was an OK winter hike. If you think the top of Elden is windblown, you should see O'Leary. Maybe the Radio Fire hides the wind damage on Elden, but ever tree on O'Leary looks beaten by wind.

I think Monsoon season will begin around June 20, plus or minus 5 days, not by the calendar according to the NWS, but when dew points rise dramatically, and it begins to rain over the Sacramento Mountains. It will start about 10 days later in Arizona.
