Did Cave Trail from Peralta...GPS saved me a few times from getting off trail out there! Visited Geronimo Cave, then Weaver's Needle Overlook, then the saddle.
The most fun part of the trip was on my way back to the trailhead. I took Peralta Trail back from the saddle, and less than a half mile from the cars I heard waterflow. I went off trail just a few steps and found two nice swimming holes! Beautiful clear water, secluded, small waterfall going into the pool. I started off just taking a few pictures, but then couldn't resist. I jumped in all the way! At first it was cold
, but once I had my head wet it was really nice
I'd highly recommend finding it before it's gone. Just head up Peralta for about 0.4 miles, and listen for the water on your left, and descend a few feet to the pools. Nice to see the green out there as well. A few wildflowers are just starting to sprout up too.
Difficulty (for me): (of 5)
