I expected the road to be impassable for the winter (the gate was open but it was not plowed), so I parked at the main road, strapped on the snowshoes and got going. The snow was inconsistent, 10" deep in some places, non-existent in others. Off went the snowshoes; I trudged in my Sorels without a problem. The lake is all frozen over, beautiful! I hoped for a clear view of Kendrick or the SF Peaks, but the cloud level was low. There were old ski and snowshoe tracks, but nothing recent. I found a piece of photo equipment on the dam--PM me if it's yours. It was a great way to spend a Sunday morning.
