This was my fourth hiking day trip to this most enjoyable Scottsdale-McDowell Sonoran Preserve and my first time completing the entire clockwise loop.

I downloaded Al's GPS Route for this hike which helped me to confirm a couple of correct intersection turns. This 10.2 mile loop with numerous access points and well marked trail intersections are only a confusion to someone like me who is not use to seeing well marked trail signs when hiking in more remote areas as I enjoy doing.. they just confuse me! :)

After my fourth time in this area, I do still think that this hiking area is my favorite close-in "city" area to hike. This time of year it is only missing flowing water in the washes as it really does have most everything else to make for a most enjoyable area to hike. The trails are well maintained, well marked, family friendly, quite scenic with still a feeling of remoteness, numerous varieties of desert flora, and offer a number of day hiking options for length, a good workout, and driving/parking access points for your convenience.

Do hope you will view my attached pic set with detailed captions for a kind-of "tour guide" for some of what keeps me and others coming back to this area!
