My husband and I have come here to walk/jog/bike since we moved here in 2002 exactly one day after our honeymoon. As newlyweds, we lived apart for the first 6 months - Brad was here and I was in Birmingham. Long story even longer...each time I visited Arizona we would exercise here and I just couldn't get over the mountains and big open blue sky spaces. Very foreign terrain if you've grown up around trees and rolling hills all your life. We always park at the Mercado del Lago shopping area and go along the lakes and golf course and then back around the other way all the way to Scottsdale Shea Hospital.
I'm a nostalgic, sentimental sap and this section of the Greenbelt is full of so many memories. Newlywed days
-- falling in love with Arizona -- and now today we took our 3 month old daughter Caroline for the first time. Anyone with kids will know the significance of packing up all the gear, gizmos, and whatnot that a 3 month old requires. Ends up not being worth it unless you really stay out long enough.
Gorgeous weather today and Caroline slept almost the whole walk. Whatever few calories were burned in the walk were immediately ruined by a yuuuumy
Tolberone gelato at a new cafe on the corner called That's Amore. (It used to be a dog juice bar)
