After doing the Hieroglyphic Trail with tibber, we still had most of the afternoon left, so we just did some exploring on the LGT. We hiked out from the signed fork in the trail near Cloudview and went about a mile and a half and then back. The wildflowers were colorful and numerous and there were hummingbirds everywhere. The trail is easy to walk and easier to follow... user-friendly for trailrunners, mountain bikers and out-of-town guests. We went as far as the first drainage, which creates a lush oasis in it's path with various trees, loads of flowers and a lot of fat, happy cacti. I'm surprised this trail wasn't very busy on a Saturday. Seems like it would be perfect for snowbirds and families with young children. Maybe if they put in a few park benches and drinking fountains! :sl:
