We didn't make it up to the Leap (us being old and all), but even along the way you can see the fantastic rock formations this area has to offer. Someone needs to protect this area from strip mining!

We parked at the intersection of Magma Mine Road and Forest Road 315 (aka No. 9 Road) and hiked up (well, down really) 315 for about a mile and a half until we stumbled across the creek bed we eventually decided to scrabble up. We got about a half mile up that canyon before we turned around.

Lots of birds in the mesquite bosques in the canyons right about now!
