MT HUMPHREYS NOT YET COMPLETED :(
Now this weekend we had planned to go backpacking trip but we were flooded out, he came up with 'White Box/Woods Canyon' trip instead. After we dried off we headed to Woods Canyon to set up camp for the night, when we got there it had rained so heavily that the mud was almost 10 inches deep. (see truck photo)
We contemplated going home but Joe had an idea, we went to the campground beside Mount Humphreys. In the morning as we approached the trail head, we ran into some fellow HAZ members. (see photo)
It must have snowed recently because the further up the trail we got the thicker the snow became. We reached the area where the steep switch-backs begin the trail was covered in deep snow. We evaluated our situation, wet gear/shoes/packs and decided this was not the day to complete it. I was disappointed but I remembered being snowed out of our first Four Peaks Motherload trip and the excitement I felt when we finally completed it.
TO BE COMPLETED...
