I recently planned a week long car-camping/hiking trip to my favorite spot (at 7350' elev) up FR139G on the Mogollon Rim- "Cabin Loop Area". This hike was my first hike of six in the Cabin Loop area over a 6nt/7day escape from our PHX area summer heat.

The U-Bar Trail is always a good warm up exercise hike due to three significant canyon up and downs that provide more for the effort and if you hike it as I did "to and back" from the NW TH Start area around Pinchot Guard Cabin to Dane Spring/Cabin, then you can have fun doing these three canyons both ways.

The only scenic drawback for my hike this day was a recent lighting fire on May 26th (the Tucker Fire that became a 2wk managed F/Service Fire) that took out the south side of this U-Bar Trail from where it crosses FR139 to, as I recall, the upper west side of Dane Canyon.

Please see my posted pic set-captions and posted GPS Route-notes for more trip details of this, an enjoyable lasso loop hike that started and ended at my campsite location up FR139G near the Aspen Spring area.

Dane Spring Gallon + per minute
Flowing nicely this day and clear water from source;
