This was the first of two hikes planned for this Friday around the Mogollon Rim-Cabin Loop Area. I had passed this TH hike numerous times making the drive from Hwy 87 down FR95 to my FR139G car-campsite, but had never done this short, enjoyable hike down to East Clear Creek Canyon to take-in the water, beach, and canyon views. I was kind-of expecting a trashed area at the bottom, but was very pleasantly surprised to find how everyone who enjoys the nice family and individual- backpack camp areas, picnic areas, beach areas, and numerous swimming holes has taken care to not leave any traces. I was a little surprised to find this place to myself on a Friday morning, but this just made this short hike more enjoyable for a few pictures.

From what I saw this day, I would definitely recommend this hike as a great family RIM day outing location and even more enjoyable if you like to get wet and enjoy eating crawdads.. http://www.hikearizona.com/phoZOOM.php?ZIP=100279

Please see my posted pic set/captions and posted GPS Route/notes for more hike details.

Havasu Canyon Trail - Sep 15 2014
I was watching the helicopter make multi-drops of people and supplies when, at one point, a stray horse wandered into the landing field (the gate was open). The guys unloading the supplies chased it around the field until it went back out the gate. Then as it was running up the main drag, another resident must have thought it got loose so he shooed it back into another open gate and back into the field. So now these guys are chasing it around the field again but this time they start pelting it with rocks. The horse was panicking and didn't know where to go. Rocks were being hurled at it from all directions. He ended up falling down after a really hard rock hit and it looked like he broke...
