Sredfield
I participated in the 2nd annual Hart Prairie Work Weekend led by SRedfield of the arizonahikers. These people worked their tails off. We were covered with dirt and debris; I would have never known I had even worn shoes let alone socks :o ...

Saturday I helped with building stash piles by taking branches that had been recently cut and throwing them in the back of a pick-up truck and then unloading. I actually left my camera behind but since I was hyperventilating ;) at the birds, flowers and landscape, Shawn let me go get my camera... well actually he told me to breathe first, ha! That way I could also take pictures of us working so hard too :D !

In the afternoon I decided to go on weed duty. If I see another mullein it will be too soon!!!!!!!!! I USED to think this was a pretty flower. Now I just want to mull :gun: it down. We took down the mullein around the Bebb Willows so they could thrive a little better. On the way back to the mule, Randy took me around the area as we investigated the plant and bug life and took a few photos. We also saw a deer.

Sunday AM, I participated in gathering the rounds that had been cut the day before and loading them into the pickup truck bed. That's not easy either as it is monotonous to walk back and forth on a forest floor and only be able to carry 3 or 4 rounds depending on the type of tree... knowing there are a hundred or more rounds to be picked up. But we did have some fun when Hnak and I decided to contribute to the stash pile that was also being set up... we decided to see who could find the longest tree branch log and put it on the pile - you'll have to see the photo.

What a group of hard-working and fun people. And I must say, I never ate so much and so well. You can really see the difference we made; there's nothin' better than instant gratification. :)

Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.

Havasu Canyon Trail - Sep 15 2014
I was watching the helicopter make multi-drops of people and supplies when, at one point, a stray horse wandered into the landing field (the gate was open). The guys unloading the supplies chased it around the field until it went back out the gate. Then as it was running up the main drag, another resident must have thought it got loose so he shooed it back into another open gate and back into the field. So now these guys are chasing it around the field again but this time they start pelting it with rocks. The horse was panicking and didn't know where to go. Rocks were being hurled at it from all directions. He ended up falling down after a really hard rock hit and it looked like he broke...
