Parked at Midgley Bridge on the 89A and did this hike along with Wilson Canyon Trail We went up Wilson Canyon Trail, passing the Jim Thompson trail conection at about the 0.6 mile point, to the cliff face where the views make the incline worth while.Back down to the intersection of Jim Thompson trail and along it, The view is more open on this trail and as you walk round the base of steamboat rock most of Sedona can be seen. Through a gateway and down to the new trailhead for Jim Thompson / Brins Mesa / Cibola / Jordan. We stopped for lunch on the return leg. We only met two people on the way out and three on the return trip apart from the crowds at the bridge.
