My girlfriend and I did Cholla a few months ago as our first trip up Camelback, so we thought we give Echo Canyon a try. We took our sweet time going up (GPS showed equal stopped and moving time) and made decent time down. I have to say that I definitely prefer the Echo Canyon scenery, but the Cholla hike. I'm not a big fan of the steps...seems like they take more energy than climbing without them Overall it was a great hike, however. Maybe someday I'll be one of those Camelback Runners!
