Arizona 555 Mile Grande Circle Route

Last year on a return trip from Escudilla Mountain, we travelled Hwy 191 from Springerville to Safford stopping at Hannagan Meadow along the way http://hikearizona.com/photoset.php?ID=5968 . I took mental note of the potential fall riot of colours http://hikearizona.com/photoset.php?ID=6373 and that the Ferrari Club was making a stop at the Hannagan Meadow Bar & Grill along Hwy 191. Although I do not own a Ferrari, I do have a vehicle suited to the twists and turns of Hwy 191, and wanted to make what I'll call "the ultimate Arizona fall colour trek" - the Arizona 400 Mile Grande Circle Route - Phoenix to Payson to Show Low to Sun Rise Peaks to Springerville to Safford to Globe and back to Phoenix. 12 hours plus of eye candy and sports car heaven! Plenty of stops and "mini-hkes" in search of fall colours - Payson Paleo Site, Sun Rise Peaks area, Big Lake, Pole Knoll, Escudilla, Hannagan Meadow, Blue Vista, and countless pull-overs along Hwy 191...

Although fall colours are on the wane, still a fantastic trip with Lynn...
