I like walking in the desert in the rain. It smells good. I needed some exercise so I packed my day pack pretty full and off I went. It rained very lightly, and the gray quilted clouds set off the day nicely. This is a scenic and easy loop, with nice sonoran desert vegetation, an old dam, some early flowers, hints of snow in the high Rincons, and interesting rock forms. A few people on the lower trails, no one out on the well defined upper trail. Good views and the raising and lowering of the sky kept things interesting.
