Leisurely and spectacular hike up to the top of Escudilla Mountain. Beautiful weather, fantastic conditions. Did the hike first thing in the morning and the dogs scared some elk. Reached the fire tower and were invited up by the ranger; one dog made the ascent and was rewarded by ranger with dog treats. Nice guy. Only met two small hiking groups on the way down.

Camped down at Terry Flat; nice and empty.
