Re: In Support of Sandals...

I still wear xero shoes z-trails for most of my summer running, hiking and casual wear. I tend to wear holes through things before I replace them and this is my second pair after a warranty on the first pair by wearing the sole to 1 mm before they hit 5000 miles. It’s a ridiculous warranty which is ...

Re: What do you do for a living??

I do the same thing in a different place closer to home helping people instead of putting fuel in your gas tanks. I still get paid to sleep and walk laps. After all they say EMS stands for Earn Money Sleeping, but the mission is more rewarding and I get to see the kids more often. My preference is n...

Re: Fatality for Arizona Hiker on Mt. Hood

Sorry to hear unfortunately people get lost frequently on Hood. The slopes and trails are not on the fall line to Timberline Lodge. When I patrolled there we used to have to put up fog markers to mark the fall line in case of snow or reduced visibility otherwise people routinely end up in the adjace...

Sleeping platform now folds up and transforms into storage shelf when not in use lifting on gas struts and drawer slides. It now only takes about a minute to switch it back and forth. :y:

Re: Route Scout - GPS Topo Mapper

My route scout changed from a woman who could clearly anunciate splits that could be heard from my pocket or over my music when running. Today I have a mumbling man who sounds like he has marbles in his mouth. I can’t find a place in settings to change it back. He is worthless for for training purpo...

Re: Car/Overland camping set ups

@toddak A guy I work with has one and he spent 20 grand less than on his house :scared: they are 😎. I’m not a diy person either, but found that trying to fill my frontier with 2 kids and dogs doesn’t work. I have done a few things to the truck and removed a few things to increase space, and ultimat...

Car/Overland camping set ups

So i’m Slowly experimenting/changing Yertle as we use her and as budget permits. I’ve seen and know some people have set ups ie. Bebee, steph and Blake. I also know oregonhiker and RedRoxx sleeps in their fj’s and of course Grasshopper and his camp set up. Basically, I would like to see different Ha...

Re: Hiking vehicles

I have and have been really happy with my 2001 NIssan Frontier crew cab. 4 wheel drive and goes just about anywhere. It has been pretty dependable. Not as familiar with the newer Nissans. It cost me about 10 grand less than a similarly equipped Tacoma at the time.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo just opened on Saturday after being closed 4 days for cleanup after last weeks Hail storm which had baseball size hail. 5 animals were killed or died from hail related injuries and 14 people were injured at the zoo alone. There are still cars in the parking lot damaged by the h...

@Jim_H It’s been 4-5 years since Ute Pass was closed for 5 straight hours. Pretty interesting footage of Green Mountain Falls flooding on their FB page. It’s hard to believe you can generally jump across Fountain Creek in most spots, but yes typical weather just on steroids yesterday. We needed the...
