Re: Mindless weather chit chat

Drove out SR88 to the bottom of Fish Creek Hill this afternoon. Experienced heavy rain after Tortilla Flat all the way to the bottom of Fish Creek Hill. Had the windshield wiper on high and drove with the lights on. Many rocks in the roadway but passed by them without difficulty. Parked at the botto...

The standard route is the one you created and HAZ is going to name the peak after you. :y:

Re: Superstition Wilderness Pic (Where?)

@Grasshopper
You would have better luck finding the Lost Dutchman Goldmine than this picture in the confines of the defined Wilderness area.
Sorry but in my humble opinion it was taken somewhere else......

Re: Current conditions in the Superstitions

No water crossings from the north but expect some muddy spots on the old road. It may be cold in the evening so be prepared.

Re: Superstitions in a Winter Storm

@SuperstitionGuy muddy it will be. leave the gps at home. I should have addressed this to Puddlegulm (sp?) as they have apparently have not had the Superstition experience before not having been on these trails. Which means they would have had to use their GPS the majority of the time to stay on or...

That stuff on the front bumper is for Chevys and Fords when you find them stuck or broken down. :scared:
You have to move them out of the way and sometimes there is not enough room to go around. :lol:

Re: Thoughts on this eastern supes loop

The road up to Rogers Trough has been improved so much that we have stopped talking about it in the forum for road conditions. I would believe you could drive it now as there has not been any major rain storm in the area to damage the surface. Just plan on having a plan B in case there is a major st...

What's wrong with the higher camping in the Superstitions. If it's cold you want it's there.

Re: Reavis Falls...

I drove Highway 88 yesterday all the way to the dam. It was a very muddy drive and I had it mostly to myself. The Fish Creek Hill took quite a beating for sure and with todays rain the falls should be flowing again.

Re: Mindless weather chit chat

The rain late last night in Apache Junction was so intense and so long that I cannot even get to my backyard rain gauge until I build a board bridge after daylight to do so. The time right now is 3:18 AM so I will report back after doing so. I am offering a ride along Apache Trail as far as the road...
