Bluff Spring trail from Peralta TH is open only to the Terrapin Trail junction, then Terrapin to the Dutchman is also open. Hiking Bluff Spring to the Dutchman junction at Crystal Spring gets you into the closed area.

Re: Westward Arch, Goldfields

I spoke with John at the Tonto Mesa District Office who confirmed that closure 12-17-291 is still in effect and being in the two areas outlined in the map is prohited during the given dates of December 1 through June 30. There is a statement in the order that the closure can be lifted after March 31...

Re: Westward Arch, Goldfields

The date on the closure notice on the FS website is December 16, 2018. The closure notice is also still listed on the Southwest Bald Eagle Management website, www.swbemc.org.

I too can call the FS tomorrow.

@DixieFlyer Yes, the link you included is the same. Joe also added the closure details to each of the affected guides. I am not aware of it expiring early.

Re: iPhone or Samsung?

When I was working I was supplied with a Samsung. Their camera seems better than what I've seen on the iPhone. Their battery life wasn't too impressive. When I became unemployed I inherited an iPhone 5s from my daughter. She replaced it when the battery wasn't holding a good charge. I replaced the b...

Reliability order for mid sized trucks per CR: 1. Nissan Frontier 2. Honda Ridgeline 3. Chevrolet Colorado 4. GMC Canyon 5. Toyota Tacoma I am sure this is looking at the newer models, where Toyota did all it could to destroy the Tacoma with the 2016 redesign. The demand of a well cared for 2015 or ...

I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier. Great truck, only lacking 4WD. So good a vehicle that in my search for a 4WD I haven't found anything "used" better than it so I keep what I have.

Looks like a great option, with fantastic upper back ventilation. Looks like maybe the hand straps could get snagged but could be cut or somehow strapped to prevent that. Thanks for sharing.

Not an expert but I thought the motor mount issue seen in the 2005 Tacoma's was fixed in 2006 and higher.

Re: Hiking pain and pill popping

For the recreation of hiking, the only time I pre medicate is when higher altitude is involved, 2 Excedrin helps with the headaches. A few years back when I was going through a rough patch health wise and no cause could be found, my doctor suggested Quercetin, a natural anti-inflammatory, with other...
