Re: Rabies Exposure

@BrettVet
Great info, thank you. I was very glad I'd just had her re-vaccinated for rabies last week! And thankful that there was never any physical contact.

Re: Rabies Exposure

We encountered a very aggressive/likely rabid fox within a mile of Reavis Ranch this past weekend. It charged my dog and then chased my friend. Wouldn't back down when rocks were thrown at it. Finally left when Hippy threw her hat at it... it ran off with the hat. Keep an eye out out there, and your...

I ALWAYS stop there when I'm in town. Love that place! I may need to split that beer with others while I'm there, but I'll do it! : rambo :

@nonot @friendofThundergod @DallinW @rwstorm @big_load
thanks so much for your input! and what a cool little area. I'd love to go to Lake Ann, but not sure my car would make it, especially with all the rain. St Elmo and the other trails look like fun though!

Rainy Colorado hike suggestions

I'm going up to the Breck area for the next week or so. The plan was to hit Wetterhorn on the way up, but the weather isn't looking promising. Anyone have suggestions on cool/fun hikes that wouldn't be too affected by rain (as in, no summits, but totally doable in the rain)? Including ghost towns or...

Re: Pokmon Go and hike

So, some people enjoy Pokemon Go, while others don't understand it. And some people enjoy dramatically complaining about every little thing even though others don't understand that. So to each their own, I suppose? This topic has become excruciatingly unreadable.

Re: Pokmon Go and hike

Yep, the game makes it so that above a certain speed, Pokemon are no longer catch-able, and you can't open Pokestops. Among other features that I won't get into. You can still open the game and try, but it's not gonna happen. No one is forcing you to like the game, but lay off those who do enjoy it ...

Re: Roadkill

The PD in the town I grew up in would sometimes pick up fresh deer roadkill and turn it into jerky. It was pretty tasty.

Re: Pokmon Go and hike

Wow, it really sucks for some of you that there are people out there enjoying this. I was curious what the hype was about, so I downloaded it to find out firsthand. It's cute; you walk around and things pop out at you and you capture them. I play it sometimes when I walk the dog. (And sometimes when...

@chumley I would join this event, but I'm already RSVP'ed yes to a Poke-nar event 200 metres from my front door that very same day.

Re: Salome Jug, AZ :Conditions OK for this wknd?

A friend of mine posted videos from this last Saturday, May 7th, showing him and his friends sliding down the rock into flowing water, and jumping into the large pool from above. Looks like prime time.. just double check that water level first before jumping :)

Re: Glen Canyon Dam to Lee's Ferry

1. We went in early June 2014 and the temps were perfect! The cold water was a nice compliment to the sunshine, and we even caught a few fish. 2. During that time, the water was super easy. Class I all the way. In the boat you have, I'd expect the ride to take a little longer, but definitely doable....

not yet. it has been a rough few days following my wilderness run, but I have been finding solace in beer and snark-asm at the Wildernips and other such worthy venues.

Re: On what hike in AZ have you been the most nervous

Four Peaks with Janelle - something happened and I suddenly was extremely disoriented. Not enough food? Water? Not sure, but my sense had left the building and I was trying to convince her to go the wrong way. I was so angry that she didn't understand that we needed to go that way. I almost started ...

Re: HAZzy Hour meet n greet!

Kivah asked me this morning if she could go to the meet n greet. I told her, so long as she didn't flirt too much with the other dogs. She's not great at keeping (remembering) promises, so we'll see how she's feeling tomorrow. That little minx.
