WCC Bullpen Road Closed

Drove up Friday night to find Bullpen road closed at the cattle guard. Sign says closed due to flood damage. I’m guessing this adds about 2 miles to hike in.

So much for that little pool that held a few trout next to the road.

Re: C.C. Cragin closed indefinitely

Called the ranger station today. They’re fairly certain the road and lake will both be open April 26th. Was told the lake is 100% full and the water level is over the new gate at the boat launch area currently. Was also told the lake would be stocked with trout very soon, as it hasn’t been in two ye...

Re: Looking for short scenic Supes route

@sajor75 The https://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=644 from First Water should fit the bill. About 16 miles depending on how you wander around. You'll see people out but not many once you turn off on https://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=1300. Nice campsites along Cavalry trail, water o' plenty...

@Mike90
Try the Marsh Valley Loop, from First Water - counter clockwise. About 15-16 miles total. There are great campsites along the Cavalry trail, near the White Rock Springs area you mentioned. There is plenty of water of course.

hi, you're probably looking around
[ Late August Backpacking :: map ]
You're 2-3 days could all be spent on the [ Cabin Loop - Mogollon Rim ] ? Plan on rain.
I'll trade you for a 2-3 day late August canoe trip on the Current river?

Sounds like fun in water world and maybe good to work with your wet weather gear for a change. Campfire maybe not...
May run into your group out that way Saturday on day hike.

You could camp here, about 2 or so miles north of Angel Basin on Frog Tanks. This would be an easy stroll into, from Reavis really.

I thought only "non-essential" agencies were shutting down, like DOD, DOJ, IRS, FEMA, HHS, DHS, ED, EPA, USDA, you know all the "Acronym Agencies"???

I have 4 different pairs of Xero shoes. I love the 4mm kit shoes for backpacking camp shoes. Super light and packs flat. Even with socks, no problem.

Re: What do you do for a living??

I actually joined HAZ right before landing my current position in 2011. I had a lot of extra time then to re-ignite my passion for the outdoors. Too many years went by working 6 days a week climbing the corporate ladder. I manage a team of folks that service just about every claw machine in AZ, NM, ...
