Re: 27.5" tire size bikes

@rustyshackleford135
Nice! You can take your bike to the LBS, or go with 1" gorilla tape, 2 laps, and buy good valve set on Amazon. Although your rims are "TR" maybe the tires are not, at least something to check. New tires are no problem, love Maxxis or WTB.

@ddgrunning
That photo was from Rock Crossing C trail, [ Rock Crossing Trail #18C - Blue Ridge ]
From Pinchot head north and follow the road uphill to FR139A, follow that to it's end. It turns to a trail about a half mile before the lake. There are also some good campsites there.

Re: Cabin Loop Suggestions

@ddgrunning You did say two nights? Well, I would rather hike Fred Haught twice than Gen Crook or rim road once. So, I might park at Washington Park, up the Col. Devin trail, head down Fred Haught and camp at Pinchot vicinity. Day two head south on Houston Bros and complete a loop with Barbershop a...

@joebartels
Beer... All brought to you by Budweiser beer. The wildlife area named after Augustus Busch Sr, wife donated enough money to the MDC to earn the name in the purchase from the Feds back in the 40's.

Re: Cocodona 250 Mile Race from Black Canyon to Flagstaff via Mt Elden

@azbackpackr I don't know the winner or if he is boastful in his win, but I think 250 miles on foot, and those particular 250 miles, in 3 days speaks for itself. Seems just as impressive as someone who can spend 60 days out in the woods with nothing but a pocket knife. Just two very different races...

@SpiderLegs
The Colonel Devin trail always comes to mind when someone talks about biking the AZT. Crazy!
Maybe the Cabin Loop itself would be OK on a MTB.

Re: Beginner bikepacking suggestions?

@xsproutx Bikepacking.com has some good suggestions, but elevation gain might be hard to avoid. The other question is always which bike to ride? Panniers with your cross bike on most off road trails in AZ are going to be problem. A MTB with a Revelate/Apidura type handlebar bag, frame bag, and unde...

Re: Fly Fishing Oak Creek

@BunsbertMontcroff I would guess that some do get washed downstream for sure, but I guess that same flooding event allows them to move further upstream as well. I was thinking the same thing about it being pretty shallow as well as crowded. Glad to hear Dude will be open soon, I need to be there. I...

Nothing a little butter, garlic, spices, and a campfire won't fix.
