Heck ya. Humphrey's beat me up going up and down. Took a power nap on top and when I got to the trailhead, I was feeling it, so I took another power nap on the hood of my ol' pick-up I had at the time.

Just curious; I'm sure public urination is in the ARS. Does that apply to the national forest land? I hope not!!! The thing about any ARS...it really only applies when you are "caught & charged". Till then, you are free to pee on the tree! Besides, wild animals mark their trails all the time!...

Re: WOW!

In response to Shi's reply: :o Rush hour! I did consider that actually, but my mom always said "never look a gift horse in the mouth". Traffic was moderate, clipping at around 65mph and it was my first time traveling this loop, so I was kind of sight seeing from the middle lane trying to figure out...

WOW!

Many of you HAZ'ers know my feelings about the cancerous, hideous, blight of the "Valley of the smog" :o opps, I mean "Valley of the Sun". And I generally avoid any travels south of Black Canyon. However, I have to say, I was down in the Meas area, northeast of the Ellisworth and Southern.......A ma...

ARS 13-1402 seems to be the one they probably should have used. http://www.azleg.state.az.us/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/ars/13/01402.htm&Title=13&DocType=ARS As for it applying in National Forest, I would guess it applies in any area that is considered "Arizona". I take what you are saying is the ab...

Re: verde

The biggest bear to running those portions of the Verde is the vehicle shuttle. Also, if you leave a vehicle unattended at Childs for very long, your odds of suffering some sort of damage increase with each day. I had a friend who went down the Verde earlier this year. Embarked from Childs and mean...

I made a mental note to avoid the Superstition Mountains after reading all the horrible accounts of death, disappearances, and in general, mayhem of that hideous mountain range. It can be tough in the Wilderness at times...but, when I add up the numbers, I feel safer in the Supes than I do at the l...
