We can and we do!

In response to Shi's reply: Hey Mary! Thanks for responding. I'm about 75%, but so restless to get out there I can't stand it! Like most of us, after a few weeks of standing on only pavement, I get crabby! I'm headin' to Utah for Christmas, but I am still taking it somewhat easy. I think by early-m...

National Parks Lack of Help

I gotta vent. Ya know, in just about every single book or article on hiking there is always the caveat at the end of a trail description (especially if it is remote or strenuous) to contact the NPS or the Ranger District or whomever for road, trail, water, weather or other conditions. Is it just me?...

Crossing Arizona

Hi Cathy! I don't know anyone, although I am sure on this vast site someone does! Have you read Crossing Arizona, by Chris Townsead? He backpacked south to north in 2000, and the book chronicles his trip. So far it is very interesting! I just started reading it- picked it up at Barnes & Noble in the...

Dayhike Suggestions

If you are only visiting for a short time, and you're a fit Hiker- I would at least hike Reavis Ranch from the south- it's a fairly long dayhike RT, but it's really nice and cool this time of year. Then, I would make sure to hike up Rogers Canyon to the ruins. These are must-do in my book! There are...

Re: Dueter vs GG

I have a hiking partner who ribs me constantly about my decision to go ultralight. He says, "I like to have at least 3 changes of underwear and a ton of comfort food!" I say, okay its only an overnight, but hey- more power to ya! Hey Mary- it's your fault anyway (by way of Chris- him and his boston ...

Dueter vs GG

My dad has the Deuter Vario Futura 42, and he loves it. I like it too- it seems comfortable for him and has great features. However, if you are a tall person with a long torso, its not gonna fit well. I purchased the Vario Futura 40 + 10, and still it would not fit my torso comfortably. Even with th...

Re: Roger's Trough TH info request

In response to trackerjim's reply: I've been to Rogers Trough twice in the last three weeks. Seems like the road is a bit worse than last year, but not bad. I would still say it is not strictly 4X4, just high clearance and take it easy. I don't think we have had too much significant rain, so it sho...

Wow- now THAT is weird!

Interesting!?! Thats an understatement, Crystal!! That loco woman would have freaked me out!! I too can certainly self-apply the term weird, but that lady holds the patent. Wow! Since we went from goofy to weird..I met a whole group of strange ones on a recent hike in the Sups. They seemed straight ...

I think anyone that has had any experience with Cannabis Hemp or know people who smoke would agree that abusing Cannabis Hemp can cause problems, just as the abuse of any drug- alcohol, cigarettes, prescriptions, even antibiotics- can cause problems. What irks advocates of Cannabis Hemp reform, such...

naww..we're just funnin' (well, 'cept for maybe Trish- she is a wild one! hee...heee. ). Really, I think all of us love sunrises over the Supes and sunsets among the red rocks too much to pollute ourselves with such concoctions. I don't think, however, that an intelligent discourse on public ...

I came across a stone medicine wheel in Boyton Canyon. I supposed some recent Sedonite New Agers made it, but it was cool bushwacking off a spur trail and seeing it. In Illinois, I was hiking in the Shawnee National Forest near a place called High Knob, cutting through a plowed corn field when I cam...

Water is Wet

Oh man Matt I just about had a heart attack. I love those ads and billboards that admonish, "75% (or 90% or whatever) of all people experiment with marijuana before the age of 17". Same for smoking and drinking. Fact is, the teenage years are when people experiment! Thats like saying "75% of all sex...

Az420dude, You are wealth of info! I'll try that cereal-sounds like a great alternative to the dozens of sugar laced cereals on the market now. I noticed some of the other cereals which are healthy taste amazingly like wet cardboard! Cannabis Hemp seed is THE premier single best food source. It is t...

Legalize it!!

Here, Here!! I second that! As hikers, nature lovers, and conscientious environmentalists (or un-conscious enviros if you've hiked a little to close to that pot field) we should ALL be behind legislation to legalize the production of, at least, industrial hemp and the decriminaliztion of marijuana. ...

Road to 4 Peaks (FS143)

Does anyone know if this road is open from the Beeline? Last time I was past the road was about a month ago (I think Tonto was still closed then) and the barricades were still up.

Please let me know if you have any info!

Thanks!

Mike
