Fishing in Mainstem of Black river

does anyone have any experience fishing in the mainstem of the black river? i am just wondering if the fishing is good, or if there is any, i have been along the west fork of the river and there was no fish what so ever,

the cabin loop trails above the rim near strawberry are pretty nice this time of year, can be as long or short as you wanna make it, look up houston bros, fred haught, or pinchot cabin, they are all easy trails not much elevation gain or trail finding

Looking for a Long Backpacking Trip ~5days

i am looking for a long backpacking trip of about 5days, it will be in the third week of july, i am looking for something that has reliable water, and wont kill my buddies coming along :wink: , elevation change doesnt really bother me, so thats not a concern, i would also like to stay away from GCNP...

i was up in the area just this weekend, its warmed up a lot since i was there last, couldnt say about the nights tho just up for the day, aspen springs had very little flow but there were some small pools to filter if you needed to, all along fred haught the water was stagnant and had a lot of algae...

i was just in fossil springs and also hiked the flume trail, it was the middle of august and both were open, in fact we bumped into a ranger in the area while on the flume trail, we sat and talked with him for awhile and he never mentioned anything about a closure, in two spots however it was notice...
