Re: Reavis Ranch

Although this is somewhat a matter of personal preference, I don't like the idea of only bringing only one source of light. For one like I said if you loose one you have a backup (once again varies from person to person on this as some people don't have a habit of loosing things like I do). Also I ...

Re: Reavis Ranch

Re: still missing

OK! :sl: Point well taken, but, there were a number of other things about them that I didnt go into as well, Id like to think that I could pick out s...

Re: still missing

Not good, Im not sure how the other two wouldve gone missing, I mean, they were on a trail, unless they decided to try and go off trail to cut distance off their trip I feel kinda bad, the older guy looked like he was in kinda rough shape when we saw him, and it was pretty early in the day Saturday ...

Patching Down

Ive got a down vest that was punctured by catclaw, its a small hole, but leaking down like crazy none the less

I was thinking about picking up a rip-stop repair kit, and maybe putting a few thread through it, I was just curious if anybody on here had any novel ideas for doing a nice patch job?

Re: hammocks at the Tony family ranch

How big is your tarp?

I have a 10 x 12, sometimes it feels huge, other times a bit cramped - I guess a lot of its how I set it up

Re: Naturist/nudist hiking

Better not get caught doing this in Switzerland , Looks like theyll make you fork over 200EU, not sure why youd have that on you in the backcountry though - and here I thought of the swiss as pretty lenient

Re: hammocks at the Tony family ranch

Dont get me wrong, I actually like the rain - I always seem to get really nice pics, with all the clouds etc Its just that after my last trip out in the rain (semi-Trans Supes) where I was totally soaked for a good 4hrs, I wasnt too thrilled to get wet again So you think you converted anyone to hamm...

Re: Trying out the new hammock 1/30-1/31

I think your gonna be pushing it to really get anywhere leaving at 330, its rush hour traffic, and the suns been setting at 530-6pm, maybe just camp at the TH friday night and do a day hike or a quick overnighter Sat-Sun As far as places to go, boulder canyon popped into my head, but theres not real...

Re: My first hammock!

the sleeping is soooooooooo much better, sometimes I wanna go hand out on my porch instead of sleeping in my bed!

as far as the pads, I used an inflatable pacificic outdoor thats 1.5" and weighs something like 13oz, it spreads the hammock and provides a lot of warmth
