Re: Favorite Water Treatment?

hah...sorry, BrunoP. I probably won't resort to that in the desert. Of course here in Jackson Hole I've been spoiled with good water, so that's why I've only had a Steripen. I've even had my share of untreated water and been fine, but those stock tanks along the AZT made me realize the Steripen won'...

Re: Joe did you do 'something' to Route Scout

I'm still not seeing a debug log. Just the button to send a debug log. Using 2.1.12 though

Favorite Water Treatment?

Hi all, I sadly had to leave the AZT last year early, but I'm giving it another go this spring. After experiencing a few of the stock tanks, I'm second-guessing my water purification methods. I had been using a SteriPEN in a 1-liter bottle that was filtered through some fine tea filters that fit con...

Re: Joe did you do 'something' to Route Scout

The update also didn't do anything for mine. On HAZ Tracks, the files font is in italics.

Re: Joe did you do 'something' to Route Scout

No coding. Attached a screenshot. Not sure if there should be anything else there. Also sent a debug log since I was there.

Mine matches as well. Also just for fun, tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but that didn't make a difference.

Re: Joe did you do 'something' to Route Scout

I left a screenshot below of what I'm getting. This is what comes up right after the title screen. I was able to get into settings and send a debug log so hopefully that helps. While clicking any of the three available options seems to work fine, getting back to the main screen doesn't work at all. ...

Re: Joe did you do 'something' to Route Scout

Just got an update for the app. Unfortunately it didn't seem to do anything for me. Loads the title screen, then the next screen is still just stuck "loading".

Re: Joe did you do 'something' to Route Scout

I'm on a Galaxy S5 and having the same issues of it not getting past the loading screen. I start it up, and then it just sits there "loading". I noticed the change when Android went through an update. Since then I can't get past the loading screen. Hoping there's a fix soon.

Re: Spring 2015 Thru-hike and Greetings!

Excellent! Thanks for the all the feedback. That'll help put as at ease. Also, @blisterfree, I'm very familiar with grizzlies up here so that analogy actually helps out a lot. Another quick question - are rodents eating through tents ever an actual problem? We plan on hiking when cougars/bears could...

Re: Spring 2015 Thru-hike and Greetings!

Hey all - quick question as our departure gets closer. We've recently read a bit about killer bees. I used to live in Arizona and though they were certainly present in some places, I don't remember them ever being much of an issue while out hiking. But a recent blog about an AZT thru-hike has me won...

Re: solar charging devices

Bob - My girlfriend found these last night that look good and lightweight: ( dead link removed ) Of course that particular model might be overkill for what you need (we're looking at that one for my DSLR), so a lighter model might work perfectly for you. te-wa - Really interesting about the Anker. I...

Re: Spring 2015 Thru-hike and Greetings!

WhiskeyTaylor - Definitely hoping to cross paths out there...so to speak. Great idea about joining the association. I'll have to see if my girlfriend did or not. I'd like to join if not. Chumley - Thanks for the weather update! We'll start checking on it as our departure gets closer, but I appreciat...

Re: Spring 2015 Thru-hike and Greetings!

Good point. Definitely something to consider. Something else I was wondering - I've heard the precipitation has been pretty good this winter down there. We were planning on starting the first week of March. I'm beginning to wonder if this might be too early? Will we be hitting more snow than expecte...

justgrif - That's actually a great idea. Sredfield - we plan on bringing solar chargers to do some documenting and photography so at least one of our phones should always have a charge.

Re: Spring 2015 Thru-hike and Greetings!

Thanks for all the great info! I had another question that might not apply to too many people. I plan on bringing my DSLR and two lenses, which I know will add significant weight, but I'm a passionate nature and night sky photographer so leaving it behind simply isn't an option. Does anyone have any...
