@friendofThundergod
It would be a hiking haven. An internet safe space where even the most easily offended could find a warm blanket of support, confirmation, and self-assurance. But mostly it would be the same. ;)

Re: State Route 88 - Apache Trail closed

Is there a petition to keep Fish Creek Hill closed forever and convert it to a hiking trail with some cool history?

Re: Mindless weather chit chat

According to this graphic from the occasionally partially somewhat reasonably reliable National Weather Service, there is a 70% chance of more than the average 0.12" of rainfall during the 5-day period Tuesday-Saturday next week. There's only a 3% chance of less than that amount over the 5-day perio...

Re: Mindless weather chit chat

The word rain has entered the forecast about a week out. Which doesn't really mean anything at all. But it's notable given the recent absence of said word.

Re: AzT... Have 2 weeks off? There ya go..

Seriously, why don't people like this just whip it out and measure it and get it over with? Measuring things seems to be a popular activity amongst some around here. It's nice to know it's ok for somebody to change their personal viewpoints of what things are worth measuring--and what things aren't...

I might speculate that with 5 directly injured, the other 10 family members assisted in their post-attack care, possibly coming in contact with blood in the process... ?

@Mountain_Rat Because... liability ? It clearly states that only 5 were attacked, but... After conferring with the Health Department, it was determined that all 15 at the campsite were required to receive the rabies treatment, as it is untreatable once symptoms start, and is almost always fatal at ...

This thread is destined for locking. This kind of thoughtful discussion on a relevant topic can’t be allowed as the opinions expressed might be deemed offensive to somebody. Let’s all be nice here, ok?

Re: Missing hiker in the Mazatzals

Perhaps .... Perhaps a lot of things! I'm still not sure what the GPS had to do with it as it seems that he wasn't even using it except "he had periodically powered up his GPS to check that he was on trail". No mention of if that happened or didn't happen near where he got off trail or anytime ther...
