Re: Heel Spur

Update on my heel spur. Well I've been on calcium and using a ultra sonic device and after three weeks I'm having a lot of relief. I went on that three mile loop hike on the Ballentine trail today and I was able to walk when I got home. Not much pain at all. I'll continue the calcium and ultra sound...

Re: Heel Spur

Thank you all for the pointers. I've had my orthopedics in place now for six months and they really haven't helped much. ALso my wedge inserts for about five months, and although they reduce the pain there isn't any real change in the pain when I hike for more than an hour. I'm waiting for the ultra...

Re: Heel Spur

Thanks I've had an orthopedic pad made for both feet that helps some and I've bought the gel heel pads for both feet and they give some relief but not enough to continue to hike. I have ordered a ultrasound device and will keep everyone posted on my results. I've also had my nutritionist get me a go...

Heel Spur

Well I've developed a lovely heel spur and the foot doctor has no remedy other than cortizone, pain killers, and surgery. I'm not feeling like any of the above will work for me. Now I've heard that taking a calcium supplement along with some vitamin D and then having some ultrasound treatments might...

Re: Group Hike - May 3rd/4th

Have fun, wish my foot and knee weren't hurting so much. I'll see the foot doc on Monday. Hope to make a hike sometime in the near future.

Re: Group Hike - May 3rd/4th

te-wa,
Let me know if you want a shuttel from barnhardt back to Peeley. I live about 15 miles from the barnhardt trailhead and I'm free on Sunday. I do have a service at one pm on Saturday so I won't be able to come out to see ya'll off.

Re: Group Hike - May 3rd/4th

Well I have a bone spur in my right heal and it's started to make my right knee sore. I'd be glad to do a shuttle from the Barnhardt trailhead back to the Mt. Peeley trailhead. I'd also like to come out with a day pack and hike part of both days. I have a four door two wheel drive dodge pickup. Let ...

Re: Group Hike - May 3rd/4th

I was just up to the Peeley trailhead this afternoon and hiked up the trail about two miles (didn't start till 3:30 ) Lots of grass cover on the trail and nats. Drove in the 10.6 miles off Hwy 87 in a ford cargo van and the road was in good shape. Just thought someone might want to know.

How about the Lew King show and the Lew King rangers?? Now that goes back a ways to. Wayne Newton was a frequent guest on his show.

I've been seeing this sign at more and more trail heads around the valley.
