Grand Wash Cliffs

I am looking into going and checking out the Grand Wash Cliffs, specifically the area south and east of Meadville. Maps claim the area to be BLM land. I cant seem to find any info about that area on here, so I thought i'd ask. My topo shows a few roads going up to the top, but no trails. Anyone have...

Re: Search and rescue crews helping stranded hiker

I was charged for a rescue on a base jump by the city of phoenix. But my insurance covered it, and suprisingly it wasnt that much. 800 bucks I think.

Re: New Fossil Creek regulations

Alot of the yahoos might not go there now anyway, with no dam to jump off anymore. This past year i went a few times and have noticed it not being as busy as usual. Maybe thats just me. Once the word got out that there really is nothing to jump from, they might have went somewhere else.

Re: Obama Administration considers 14 new monuments

Pardon me for being stupid, but why are the repubs in utah so upset? Is it because the gov. now has the rights to the land? Seems to me it would be another tourist destination in which to make money. BTW, I happen to love GSENM, one reason is that I never see anyone there!

Re: mustang mountains near Elgin

Well we hiked it on sunday. Great views, lots of fossils up it the rocks near the summit. Took about 45 min to reach the summit from camp. I took the speedwing up on the second hike. Took the express route down, was at the bottom in 1min 20seconds. Check it out- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5n1Sk...

mustang mountains near Elgin

Me and a friend have been wanting to do a car camping trip with some dayhikes into the mustang mountains near Elgin. I have been trying to find out who maintains the land (BLM, state trust, etc.) to see what permits if any are needed. Problem is I cant seem to find any info. I was told it was BLM, bu...

Re: 1st Water TH

The rangers told me last year they average about 30 break-ins a month at that trailhead in the spring. Not sure if I believe it or not. Ive never had a problem there or at peralta and have left my car at both numerous nights.
