I can walk!

Well after seeing the the doctor today it seems my back is 90% healed. I had a base jumping accident at my local cliff on Sept. 28th. which resulted in a cracked L1 and a burst fracture of L2, in which I lost about 25% of it. Now I am a hiker and backpacker first, but base has been a part of my life...

The rei flash, as someone else mentioned, is a good inexpensive pack. My ex had one and she is 5 foot even. Loved it. Wait till december when rei gets in the new "style" of the season, they will phase out the 09 stuff. probably go for 50 or 60 bucks for the 09 model. But who cares!

Ive been interested in Painted desert for some time. Would love to do a backpacking trip there! My broken back is healing good, I went back to work yesterday for the first time in two months, I think ill be able to carry a backpack by Jan!

luckily my insurance covered me when they scraped me off the mountain I jumped and broke my back last month! But I made it a point to let them know NO HELICOPTER!!!!!

Thanks to all! Im feeling really good today, hardly any pain, and have switched to Alieve already! Hopefully i do recover quickly, im itching to get out and do some hiking!!! Ive been watching the video over and over to see what happened, and yes, i feeel very lucky to be alive!!

Sorry guys, im gonna have to cancel. I broke my back on a base jump on monday :( and am still in the hospital in scottsdale. Looks like im gonna be taking some time off from hiking and backpacking for about a year while i recover. Hope you all have a great time and take lots of pictures! Once again,...

Ive always heard to stay away from outcrops and caves. Something about lightning being able to arc into it or something. (I would think it would have to be wet though)

Im sure its a mixture of both. But it seems they are talking about the area below the bridge, not the area by the springs. Am i correct?
