I knew it would be hot so I left the tent and sleeping bag at home and just put the mat on a picnic table. Dont even need a blanket, as the trem...

Yeasu FT250. Ive talked to people in flag from phoenix on them. You will have to do a few things to make them work, but it is easy. They go for 114 bucks new.

Re: 4 Nevada men rescued after GC base jump

Yup got stuck after dark in hell hole bend. Very technical jump, with little or no room for error. Very few trails to the top, and tricky (hence why none are on here.) So you think they shouldve died huh? Nobody deserves to die. We just do something most people are too scared to do. Get to see natur...

Re: End of the monsoon season?

I was flying up in flag yesterday and it was dry and hot out at the craters. Lots of cumi's developing nice cloud streets all the way to the grand canyon. If the winds at the launch site were not so strong someone couldve flown from craters all the way to desert view. I'd say flags monsoon is about ...

End of the monsoon season?

So I know its "officially" over Sept 30th, but anyone think sooner this year? I'm guessing Phoenix might get one more storm, and that will be it. Any thoughts?

Re: First time in Arizona! Suggestions?

Go to Havasupai. Kinda a grand canyon hike, and permits should be easy to get. Cool waterfalls, and there will probably be nobody there.

Re: West fork oak creek

As for the flash flooding, its monsoon, and there is a risk. There is a parking lot there with a fee (7 bucks I think) There is some decent places to camp but I think you have to be out of the red rock area to camp legally. The first 4 miles will be crowded with lots of dayhikers.
